George Family History
- Second Edition (November 12, 2006) - List of ChangesThe
first edition (August 22, 2006) had a few problems that I thought should
be fixed quickly. The vast majority of the changes were to fix bad grammar
or poorly worded sentences. Nothing new was added except perhaps in the
rewording of some sentences. Those who have purchased the first edition
probably wouldn't want to buy the second edition for the changes really
are minor. (I proofread the book before publication, but still managed to
miss all of this.) Details below.
Page / Paragraph number / Details of changes
64 p2 reworded.
77 needs a blank line after tax record table.
80 p2 “who fit age-wise.” should be “who fits age-wise.”
82 reword last sentence, seems to say Robert who married Katherine is same
one who married Elizabeth George, but it should say their son is the same
one.
82 didn’t mention death of Elizabeth Minor Williamson.
86 second marriage of Elizabeth Vivion, reworded.
96 p6 “on that the” to “on that date the”
98 p2 “Ann was just” to “Ann George was just”

235 last two para were duplicates of each other (more or less).
Consolidated them and added “I don’t know who (if anyone) Lewis might have

balance out the page and not upset the pagination, formatting, etc.
244 “Reuben George, Administer” to “Reuben George, Administrator”

275 p2 shouldn’t be there. I left it in though so as not to ruin the
pagination and index.
356 Mary Virginia Brown’s death date is actually marriage date. Fixed that
and index entry.
389 footnote 23 “birth years” to “birth year”
397 top of page, para needed blank line between it and table above. Moved
everything down one line and to next page where there was extra blank
line. Removed it. This changed index for three names which I manually
corrected in index.

between them.

566 p3 “Moses (or Moses)” to “Mose (or Moses)”
584 last para, no line.
604 spacing problem

609 p8 “John Dudley also had a sister” to “John Dudley also had a
daughter”
631 “(thought that doesn’t prove anything).” to “(though that doesn’t
prove anything).”
