- Isabella Cathey (c1785 NC)
* listed here in 1850 with A. C.
Sharpe (c1812) and Jane Sharpe (c1815 NC). * She is only Cathey in
Alexander County in 1850. Is Jane her daughter? Is she a widow of a Mr.
Cathey or a single woman? Alexander County was formed in 1847 from part of
Iredell County. A. C. Sharpe may be Azel Sharp Jr listed in Iredell in
1840 with a woman aged 50-59 living with him, possibly Isabella Cathey.
Back in 1830 there is an Isabella Cathey listed in Iredell, but she seems
much too old to be the same person here. *
