I (Marty Grant) am a 3rd Great Grandnephew of William Collins.

William Collins was born ca 1827/28 (per the 1850 census) in Marion Dist, SC.

William Collins is a proven son Jonah Collins (c1774) and Sarah --- as named in the Estate records of Jonah.

William was apparently home with his parents for the 1830 census, aged "under 5" (born ca 1825/30), and apparently home with them in 1840 also, age 10-14 (born ca 1825/30) or possibly mis-enumerated in the 5-9 age group (born ca 1830/35).

William married Margaret --- sometime before ca 1849 in Marion District. I don't know her maiden name.

William Collins and family were listed on the 1850 census in Marion County, just a few houses from Joshua Collins (c1825) his brother.
