(Note by Marty Grant): This pertains to the family of William McQueen who married Rebecca Guinn. William's mother was Hannah Dugger, and Rebecca's mother was Rebecca Dugger. The addendum to the Register (also said to be part of the register) states that Rebecca Dugger was a daughter of a David Dugger. So far no other record of him (David) has been found. He was probably a brother of William, Julius, Benjamin et al. This needs more study. Robert T. Nave, a noted Dugger researcher, says that this addendum was not part of the original and was added many years later by someone unknown, so can't be considered contemporary with the rest of the register. Therefore, that part is unreliable.
"The following is taken from William McQueen's LITTLE REGISTER OF BIRTH of himself, wife and offspring, made in April 1818. William McQUEEN, son of Samuel and Hannah McQUEEN was born on New River, North Carolina, in 1773. Rebekah GWYN my wife, and daughter of James and Rebekah DUGGER GWYN, was born on Cove Creek, Ashe Co., NC, November 13, 1777. William McQUEEN and wife Rebekah were married on Little Doe Creek, Carter County (now Johnson) Tennessee, September 4, 1800, by Reuben THORNTON, Esquire. William McQUEENs offspring, all born on Roans Creek, Carter County, Tennessee, as follows:
Elizabeth McQUEEN b. Feb. 28, 1797
Sally or Sarah McQUEEN b. June 4, 1801
Nancy McQUEEN b. Dec. 8, 1803
Isaac McQUEEN b. Aug 6, 1805
John McQUEEN b. May 1, 1807
Elijah Elias Gwun McQUEEN b. Apr 19, 1810
Missouri McQUEEN b. March 15, 1812
The above is a copy of the original REGISTER."
A correspondent writes: "The following is taken from Wm. McQueen's Register made in April 1818: 'I, Wm. McQUEEN, son of Sam'l and Hannah DUGGER McQUEEN was born on New River, NC in 1773. Rebeckah GWYNN my wife is the daughter of James Elias GWYNN and wife Rebeckah DUGGER, the daughter of DAVID DUGGER"
