He seems to be home with his parents for the 1800 census aged under 10 (born 1790/1800), and still home in 1810 age 16-25 (1784/94).

Cornelius Floyd married Mary (---) before ca 1815 either in Horry or Marion District. She was born ca 1797/98 per her age on the 1850 census (52). I don't know her maiden name.

On 5 Dec 1816 Cornelius Floyd and Theophilus Floyd (probably a 1st cousin) witnessed a deed from George Ford of Marion Dist., SC to Francis Floyd of Horry Dist., SC (Cornelius's brother). (Marion Co., SC Deed Book O, page 410).

On 5 Dec 1817 Core. Floyd and Jesse Rawls witnessed a deed from John Rawls to his daughter Polley Rawls. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book M, page 58).

On 12 Apr 1818 Samuel Floyd (his father) deeded a slave (Edith) to his daughter Ara. The deed was witnessed by Francis Floyd and Cornelius Floyd. (Horry Co., SC Deed Book C1 page 64 Horry County Historical Society).

They are listed on the 1820 census in Columbus Co., NC, one of several Floyds there. The others (William, Bartholomew, Margaret and Avin) were there earlier. I don't know if they are related to the Floyds of Horry and Marion, but they could be.

On 15 Mar 1824 John Newsom sold Cornelius Floyd 113 acres for $920. The land was on the north east side of Little Pee Dee between Crutchelow and the back swamp. He also sold another tract of 349 acres bordering Francis Floyd, Pharoe Scott and Tisdale. Witnessed by John McLean and Fras. Floyd, Q. U. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book O, page 234).

They were in Marion Dist., SC by 1824 and listed on the tax list there that year and taxed $1.84 and listed as "Neal" Floyd, which is a common nickname for "Cornelius." Brother Francis Floyd was also listed in Marion. They were the only Floyds on the tax list.

On 18 Feb 1826 John Rawls sold Cornelius Floyd a Negro woman named Nancy aged about 35 years, and a Negro boy Frank about 2 months, for $400. Witnessed by Jesse Rawls. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book M, page 65).

On 22 Feb 1826 "C. Floyd" and Jesse Ford witnessed a deed from Francis and Mary Floyd to John D. Floyd. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book O, page 413).

Cornelius Floyd died sometime in 1826 or 1827 in Marion Dist., SC. The earliest date in his Probate file is 10 Feb 1827. The first probate roll (# 273) names widow Mary and states there are 5 children, but doesn't name them. The second probate roll (# 279) was about as informative, stating there were 5 children, but doesn't name them. One document is dated 17 Jan 1827.

Fortunately there is more detail in the Ordinary records. On 2 Apr 1832 an order was recorded for 460 acres to be divided among the heirs of Cornelius Floyd, deceased. Heirs were Joseph Hayes and wife Mary (the widow), A. E. Floyd, John M. Floyd, Wilson Floyd, Samuel R. Floyd and Cornelius Floyd. (Marion Co., SC Ordinary's Real Estate Book (1826-1843), p. 47, published in Pee Dee Queue, Dec. 1989, Vol. XIII, No 7, p. 4).

Widow Mary (---) Floyd married Joseph Hayes between 1827 and 1830 in Marion Dist., SC. Joseph was born ca 1797/98 per his age on the 1850 census (52).  There was an older Joseph Hayes in the county, but I don't know if they are father and son, though probably related somehow.

Joseph Hayes was listed on the 1830 census in Marion District.

On 2 Apr 1832 a deed was made for the division of the estate of Cornelius Floyd upon the petition of Joseph Hays and wife Mary Hays. The tract was 460 acres (this is probably the two tracts purchased from John Newsom) and was sold at public auction to John D. Jones for $501, he being the high bidder. Signed by Samuel Bigham, Sheriff of Marion District. Witnessed by John C. Legett and John Sherrod. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book O, page 236).

They moved to Smith Co., MS in the 1830's.

On 6 Aug 1838 Joseph Hays of Smith Co., MS gave Power of Attorney to Allen Floyd of same place who was about to travel to Marion Dist., SC. He was empowered to act in his behalf for all business of whatever kind being done in SC. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R, page 109).

They are listed on the 1840 census in Smith Co., MS. Ebenezer Hays and Elias Hays were nearby, probably related somehow.

They were listed on the 1850 census in Smith Co., MS. Son John M. Floyd was next door and son William was two houses away: Joseph Hayes 52, Mary 52, Dennis 15, William 12, Martha 9, all born in "Miss" which is of course incorrect.

Mary (---) Floyd Hayes died in the 1850's in Smith Co., MS.

Joseph is listed on the 1860 census in Smith Co., MS with his son William: William Hays 22, Elizabeth 15, Joseph 57. William and wife were born in Miss., Joseph in S.C.

I couldn't find Joseph on the 1870 census so he may have died by then.

She was named in the Ordinary record (1832) as A. E. Floyd, heir of Cornelius Floyd (see above).

She married Jabez Hull sometime in the 1830's, presumably in Smith Co., MS.

On -- Aug 1838, Jabez Hull and wife Ann Eliza Hull, formerly Ann Eliza Floyd, gave power of attorney to Allen Floyd to settle with Edward Wheeler regarding the estate of Cornelius Floyd, Deceased, of Marion Dist., SC, she being an heir at law of Cornelius Floyd, deceased, as well as Wilson Owen Floyd, deceased. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R, page 115).

I found them on the 1840 census in Kemper Co., MS, or it might be them, the name is obscured ----z Hull. The fact that the name ends in a "z" is a good sign that it is Jabez, but perhaps it isn't him.

I wasn't able to find them on the 1850 census.

He was named in the Ordinary record (1832) as John M. Floyd, heir of Cornelius Floyd (see above).

On 15 May 1838, John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS gave Power of Attorney to Allen James Floyd of Horry Dist., SC to receive his portion of the estate of Cornelius Floyd, deceased of Marion Dist., SC, he being one of the legal heirs. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R, page 108).

I wasn't able to find John on the 1840 census.

On 15 Jun 1840 John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS was appointed guardian to Samuel H. Floyd and William C. Floyd, minor orphans of Smith County. These are his brothers. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R page 460).

On the same date (15 Jun 1840), a deed refers to Wilson C. Floyd deceased of Simpson Co., MS, administration being granted to John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R page 461).

He was on the 1850 census in Smith Co., MS next to his mother and step-father. He kept a Tavern: John M. Floyd 32 Tavern Keeper, born SC, Ann 24, Augustus 5 MS, Sarah 3, Samuel Ellis 22 Grocer, Hezekiah Overby 20 Laborer, VA, Cornelius Sullivan 21 Laborer, MS, William Banel? 22, Laborer, born Unknown.

They were still in Smith for the 1860 census: J. M. Floyd 42 SC, Anna J. 35 NC, Augustus 15 MS, Sarah C. 12, Louisa 7 John 5, Samuel 1, Elizabeth Dumford 21.

By 1870 they were in Clarke Co., MS, which is just east of Smith: John M. Floyd 52 Clerk in Store SC, Anna J. 46 NC, Mariah L. 16 MS, John C. 14, Samuel H. 12, Susan E. 8, George A. 6, William Trotter 14 (black), Lucy 23 (black).

I wasn't able to find them on the 1880 census.

He was named in the Ordinary record (1832) as Wilson Floyd, heir of Cornelius Floyd (see above).

He died before August 1838 in Smith Co., MS as proven by a deed from his sister Ann Eliza Hull (see above).

He is mentioned in a deed dated 15 Jun 1840 in Marion Co., SC referring to Wilson C. Floyd deceased of Simpson Co., MS, administration being granted to John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R page 461).

He was named in the Ordinary record (1832) as Samuel R. Floyd, heir of Cornelius Floyd (see above).

On 15 Jun 1840 John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS was appointed guardian to Samuel H. Floyd and William C. Floyd, minor orphans of Smith County. These are his brothers. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R page 460).

Samuel is listed on the 1850 census in Smith Co., MS with his family: Samuel Floyd 27 SC, Harriet 25 NC, Almeda 2 MS, James Evans 19 Laborer, born TX.

Samuel Floyd died in 1850's in Smith Co., MS.

Harriet was listed on the 1860 census in Smith a few houses from John M. Floyd: Harriet Floyd 34 NC, Armilda 12 MS, John P. 9, Malinda 8, Mary S. 5, J. B. McGraw 28 School Teacher SC.

I couldn't find them on the 1870 census.

He was named in the Ordinary record (1832) as Cornelius Floyd, heir of Cornelius Floyd (see above).

On 15 Jun 1840 John M. Floyd of Smith Co., MS was appointed guardian to Samuel H. Floyd and William C. Floyd, minor orphans of Smith County. These are his brothers. (Marion Co., SC Deed Book R page 460).

He was on the 1850 census in Smith Co., MS next to his brother John M. Floyd and two houses from his mother: William Floyd 24 Merchant, born SC, Catherine 18 MS.

I wasn't able to find them in 1860.
