Hattie Thermudas Grant (1879-1953) and Thomas Joshua Gilbert
Hattie Thermudas Grant (John Patton Grant4, Thomas3, Andrew2, William1) (1879-1953) married Thomas Joshua Gilbert (1884-1981) in Union Co, GA circa 1914. Hattie was born in Swain Co, NC in 1879 (tombstone has wrong year) and moved with her parents (John Patton Grant and Darthula Jane Evans) to Union Co, GA circa 1905. Thomas Joshua Gilbert was born in Union Co, GA. A few years after their marriage, they moved to Cobb Co, GA settling in Kennessaw. They are both buried there at the New Salem Cemetery. Hattie had a child out of wedlock, who was my great grandfather Marvin R. Grant (1902-1992). His father was Lon Patterson. Lon and Hattie never married each other, but both married other people. Lon married Nora Camby.
Hattie Grant Gilbert is buried at New Salem Cemetery in Kennesaw, Cobb Co, GA. I took this photo in 1989.
