Isaac Hensley was born ca 1796/97 (per 1850 census) in Tennessee (per 1850 and 1860 census). I don't know what county he was born in, but it is probably somewhere in Eastern Tennessee, such as Washington or Sullivan or Hawkins County, though that is just speculation. I don't know who Isaac Hensley's parents are. There were not very many Hensleys in Tennessee around 1797, so the list of suspects might be very small, but I don't have enough data to even speculate yet, but my first guess would be Robert Hensley (1760), though like I just said, it is just a guess. Isaac would have been about 3 years old for the 1800 census, so should be enumerated in the "under 10" age group (born ca 1790/1800). However, the 1800 census is lost for Tennessee. Isaac would have been about 13 years old for the 1810 census, so should be enumerated in the age 10-15 category (born ca 1794/1800), but the 1810 census is lost for Tennessee. Isaac Hensley would have been about 23 years old by 1820, so if listed on that census he would have been in the age 16-25 category (born ca 1794/1804). This census is lost for all of eastern Tennessee, and he was not listed in any of the western counties. However, it is possible he was already in Arkansas by then, or possibly still home with his parents in 1820. Isaac Hensley was in Crawford County, Arkansas by 1821, for he was listed on the tax list there that year. Isaac Hensley was listed on the 1829 tax list in Crawford County also. In 1829 Pope County was formed from the eastern half of Crawford County, and apparently Isaac Hensley was in that section, for he is found in Pope County after 1829. Sometime before ca 1830, Isaac Hensley married Olive Stinnett in Pope Co, AR. Olive was born ca 1810/20 (per 1840 census), daughter of Henry Stinnett, as proven by Henry Stinnett's estate records (1846) which mentioned "heirs of Olive Hensley, dec". (Thanks to Laura Schreibman for this data). I don't have Isaac Hensley on the 1830 census. He was not listed in Pope County. I read the entire county looking for him, and he wasn't listed. He was not listed in Crawford County either. I did find Henry Stinnett (Isaac's father-in-law) on the 1830 census in Pope County. He had "extra" people with him, including two males Isaac Hensleys age 30-39 (1790/1800), one of which could be Isaac. This could be them living with the Stinnetts, but that is just a theory. Isaac was listed on the 1835, 1837 and 1839 Pope County tax lists. They were listed in Pope County, Arkansas for the 1840 census. They were next door to W. K. Olive Stinnett Hensley died sometime between ca 1843 and 1846, for in her father's estate records (dated 1846) she was listed as deceased. Isaac Hensley and children were listed on the 1850 census in Pope County. They were next to John W. Stinnett and two houses from Catherine Stinnett, Isaac's mother-in-law and next to William M. Reasoner.

Isaac was living with Uriah Blackburn (c1812 TN) and Sarah Blackburn (c1821 TN), relationship unknown. Sarah could be a daughter, but I don't think she is. Several of his children were next door living together.
