Joseph Hensley was born ca 1825/26 (per 1850 census) in Tennessee (per 1850 census), county unknown. I don't know who Joseph Hensley's parents are, but I'd bet he is a brother to William Hensley (c1818 TN) who was just a couple of pages away from him in 1850. They were both born in Tennessee, and close enough in age. They may not be brothers, but it seems a reasonable guess that they could be. Joseph Hensley would have been about 4 years old by the 1830 census. He should be enumerated in the age "under 5" category (born ca 1825/30). He was probably still in Tennessee that year with his parents, but I don't know where. For the 1840 census, Joseph would have been about 14 years old, so should be enumerated in the age 10-14 category (born ca 1825/30), but I don't know where his family was at that time, whether still in Tennessee, or in Arkansas. Joseph Hensley married Virginia --- sometime before ca 1848, either in Tennessee, or in Newton County, Arkansas. Virginia was born ca 1819/20 in Tennessee. I don't know her maiden name. There were some young Keith children with them in 1850, who could be her children, if from a previous marriage. In 1850, Joseph and family were in Newton County, Arkansas in Jackson District. Possible brother William Hensley was 2 pages away.
