I am interested in all Hensleys in the United States through ca 1860. Almost all of my Hensley research has been 1600's through 1860ish. I have practically nothing more recent than 1860. If you are interested in this surname in later time periods then I probably have no data to share at present, however, I am willing to do a limited amount of research for hire and would be more than happy to help you in that manner for this or any other surname in any area. Note: My goal is to eventually have a page for each known Hensley family in America pre 1860. Although I already have about 500 pages, I am not even closed to being finished with this project. I am a semi-perfectionist and try my hardest to only include documented data. I don't mind using circumstantial evidence or even speculation, but it is always stated as such. There is so much "junk" out there on the Hensleys, I don't want to add to the confusion by sharing bad information (though some slips by of course.) Many researchers constantly tell me they have the Hensley traced back to the 1500's in England. They may think they do, but they don't. Just having some names and dates that you found somewhere on the Internet does not make it true. If you have proof to go along with such claims, please share it, for there are many Hensley researchers who'd love to know about it! I think we can say, generally speaking, that our Hensleys did come from England, and came to America in the 1600's. However the linkages between those early Hensleys and the later ones is tenuous at best, though I don't doubt they are connected somehow.
