Robert D. Hensley and Sarah C. Long family of Augusta Co, VA

A note about sources

Robert D. Hensley married in Rockingham Co, VA (borders Augusta) in 1847. He was listed on the 1850 and 1870 Augusta Co, VA census. He might be there in 1860 as well, but I don't have those listings. In 1840 George W. Hensley was in Augusta, and could be Robert's father. Robert did name a son George W. Hensley. George's 1840 household had a male child Robert's age. But this is not conclusive. The oldest son of Robert was listed as "Conrad" in 1850 but as "General L." in 1870, one of these is probably misread, as the names are similar in appearance.
