Elijah Hensley family of Logan Co, VA (WV) and Pike Co, KY

A note about sources

Elijah Hensley was born ca 1794 in VA (per the 1850 and 1860 census) or Hawkins Co, TN (per his 1869 marriage license). Elijah was in Floyd Co, KY by 1818 when he married his first wife. He was listed on the 1820 census in Floyd Co, KY. This fact, and the fact that he later went to Logan Co, WV (Just across the state line) probably ties him in with the Catherine Hensley family somehow. He owned land in Pike Co, KY (formed from Floyd in 1821). He wasn't found in the 1830 census, but in 1840, 1850 and 1860 he was in Logan Co, VA (WV). Some of his children lived over the line in Pike Co, KY. The part of Pike Co, KY they lived in became Martin Co, KY in 1870.
