Fretwell G. Hensley and Dicy --- family of Cabell Co, VA (WV)I (Marty Grant) am not related to the Fretwell G. Hensley family as far as I know, but I am very interested in him though. Fretwell G. Hensley was born ca 1821 in VA. I'm not sure what county he may have been born in, though he lived in Cabell County, VA later on (as of 1860). This county became part of West Virginia when that state was formed in 1863. Doug Hensley informs me that Fretwell's middle name was "Goolsby". I didn't find Fretwell listed on the 1850 census, but he was in Cabell Co, VA (WV) in 1860 (on page 96). I didn't find him in 1870. The use of the name "Parthenia" for one of Fretwell's daughters may indicate a close relationship with Samuel Hensley (c1804) of Cabell Co, VA (WV) who's wife was named Parthenia. This may indicate that Fretwell could be a son of that Samuel. More research is needed to be sure. ChildrenFretwell and Dicy Hensley had several children (per the 1860 census).
