The geographic scope of my interest in the Moore surname is limited to selected counties in Western North Carolina and selected counties in Northern Georgia and in Western South Carolina and also in Halifax County, Virginia. My time frame of interest is the 1700's through circa 1860 for all those places except Virginia where my interest is limited to the 1700's only.

If you are interested in this surname in other geographic areas and / or in later time periods then I probably have no data to share at present.

James Moore (c1835 Lincoln Co, NC) * Here in 1850 with Burton K. Dickey family. Being born in Lincoln would seem to associate him with Wallace A. Moore (1796) who had a son James, though slightly older than this one. Further searching seems to tie one of Burton Dickey's daughters in with the Charles Moore (1791) (son of William H. Moore (1726) family of Buncombe, who had a son James (1835). * More research is needed. *
