Verne, Jules
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
,
1870. I owned this book for many years before finally reading it
in 2005. I found it quite entertaining. I had just seen the 1950's movie and
found it to be good as well. One complaint about the book is that for the most
part nothing much happened. Just scenery after scenery, etc., as new regions of the
world's oceans were explored. Still entertaining though.
- Journey to the Centre of the Earth
, 1864.
I had seen two different versions of this on film, and liked them both. I
finally bought and red the book (a British version, thus the spelling of
Centre vs. Center). Just like 20,000 Leagues, it was slow going, but still
quite entertaining. I read it in July 2006.
