Recommendations
I have various ads and other types of
advertisements throughout this site. All of these are for worthwhile products
or services (usually pertaining to genealogy.) Clicking on them and buying something or subscribing helps
support this site.
This site costs me a lot, and considering my financial and health situation I
need all the help I can get!
I'd like to use this page to recommend a few products
and services that I'm highly impressed with. For more details visit my
subscriptions page, or my other
pages devoted to genealogy books,
genealogy data CDs, and
genealogy software. I also have
my own publications that I've written.
You can find a great deal of genealogical information on
the Internet for free, and it is a worthwhile effort to find it. However, for
some records, you have to go the depositary where they are kept (Public
Libraries, College Libraries, State Archives, National Archives, County Court
Houses, etc.) This is also a worthwhile effort, but not always practical. For a
reasonable annual fee, you can sign up with a group like Ancestry.com or
Genealogy.com (or others) and have instant access to countless valuable records.
I am a member of Ancestry.com and have been for many years. I was also
subscribed to Genealogy.com but had to drop it due to my financial situation,
though I liked them a great deal.
Highly Recommended:
Visit my
Genealogy Subscription page for details on each Subscription service. I
describe what they include. Click on each link to get more information including
the cost. Some offer monthly payments, others quarterly or annual. All of these
services are very worthwhile, but my main recommendation is Ancestry.com's US
and Canada collection, and their Census Collection. Click on the link above to
find out more.
