abstracts were all taken from the published version of this census. The
microfilm copies of the original records were not consulted by me. If any error

1787 Virginia Census Columns:
- Name of Free White Males over 21 years
of age
- Page Number (from Published version)
- Number of Free White Males aged 16 years and
up but under 21 (i.e. age 16-20)
- Number of Blacks (male and female) age 16
and up
- Number of Blacks (male and female) age under
16 (i.e. age 0-15)
- Number of Horses, Mares, Colts
- Number of Cattle
- Notes (if a Name is listed in this column,
then that person is responsible for the tax of the person listed in the 1st
column)
