1831 - Formed from Cherokee Lands and Habersham and Hall Counties.
1832 - Cass, Cobb, Floyd, Forsyth, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Murray, Paulding and Union Counties formed from parts of Cherokee.
1853 - Pickens County formed from part of Cherokee.
1857 - Milton County formed from part of Cherokee.
