Haywood County, North CarolinaFormation and Divisions | Status of Records | My Ancestral Names | Web Links | Books Available Formation and DivisionsHaywood County was created in 1808 from Buncombe County. Macon County was formed from part of Haywood in 1828. Jackson County was formed from part of Haywood in 1851. Status of RecordsAs far as I know, Haywood County has suffered no major record losses. I have been to and through Haywood County many times, but have never made it to the Court House to do any research. All my research there (so far) has been "remote" via the NC Archives or via published records.
