Onslow County, North CarolinaFormation and Divisions | Status of Records | My Ancestral Names | Web Links | Books Available Formation and DivisionsOnslow Precinct was created in 1734 from New Hanover Precinct and was a division of Bath County until 1739 when Bath County was dissolved, and all precincts became counties. Status of RecordsOnslow County has suffered no major record losses as far as I know. Some very early records (1730's) were destroyed during a Hurricane in that timeframe. I have been to and through Onslow County many times, and have been to the Court House once. It is well organized, and quite nice.
