"Western North Carolina"

On many of my web pages, I mention that I am interested in a certain surname from "Western North Carolina" only. You may wonder what I consider "Western North Carolina". Generally I mean the mountain counties of North Carolina, but in many cases, I'm also including the foothills. So for general purposes this is what I mean by "Western" North Carolina (the counties in yellow):
