Welcome to my Tanner web pages! I am interested in most of the Tanner families in NC and GA to some extent, but my primary interest is in my own line:

John Tanner (c1802-aft 1880) and wife Susannah Stroud of Burke and Macon Co., NC and Union and Towns Co., GA.

- Emily A. Tanner (1840-1875) and husband Jacob J. Waters of Macon Co., NC

I have no hard evidence, but I think my John Tanner (c1802) is a son of Joseph Tanner of Burke (now McDowell) Co., NC.

I am also interested in other Tanners in the region whether related to me or not (1700s through ca 1860). Check them out on my Documented Family Pages.

There is currently no Tanner DNA Study. Is anyone interested in starting one?
