7 Aug 2004 - I'm working on my 10th book now, about the
family and descendants of Colonel John George
of Virginia. I suspect it will take at least 2 or 3 months to complete. I've
been researching the family for 24 years. This is actually the 2nd book I've
written on them. The previous one (in 1991) was pretty bad so I never published
it.
A health update: My tailbone wound comes and goes these
days, so I am able to sit more and more and that is a nice improvement. My heart
is still a pain, but as the doctors told me it is nothing life threatening, so
I'm not overly worried about it, though it bothers me daily. I have not done
much work on this website in quite awhile. The main reason for that (other than
my health problems) is that I've been spending my computer time working on my
books and doing
research for hire.

12 Apr 2004 - Some Good news, my tailbone wound
has finally healed! For 4 years (since January 2000) I have been
miserable and have had difficulty sitting down (or doing much else). Now after a
new treatment program (began a month ago), my wound has totally closed up. It
still hurts to sit down (I'm sitting as I type this), but I'll get used
to sitting again. Thanks to all of those who have prayed for me or wished me
well. I appreciate all the kind words many of you have shared with me, and I
appreciate those few of you who gave donations for the maintenance of this
website and for my own maintenance. God bless you all.
The Bad news is that I have some sort of heart
problem now which just developed a month ago (just before I began my new wound
treatment, so not directly linked). I feel much better when I sit or stand. I
spent so much time laying down on the couch (with my laptop computer in front of
me) that I think those 4 years in that position have led to this heart trouble.
I'm seeing a specialist this week so hopefully he can tell me what the problem
is. Perhaps it is just a simple case of me being out of shape and will go away
with proper diet and exercise. My Blood Pressure has been very high either
because of the heart problem, or the heart problem is because of my high blood
pressure, I don't know which one cause the other. Either way I appreciate any
prayers. I'm on medication for it, and I've been trying to do some exercise and
lose some weight. I hope that helps.
Please pray for me, for I do covet your prayers and I
know the Lord listens to earnest prayers. Thanks!
19 Mar 2004 - I had to wear a heart monitor ("Holter
Monitor") for 24 hours. I got a call today saying nothing serious was recorded,
so that is good news, I think. I have an appointment next week with my Doctor so
I'll find out more then I hope. Still having palpitations, though not as bad now
as before.
19 Mar 2004 - I just published my newest book
The 1830 census of Marion District, South
Carolina. Check it out! I have several other
books available, so check them out too. They include census transcripts and
a History of my Grant family and others.
11 Mar 2004 - My Blood tests all came back normal
(slightly high cholesterol) but no problems. My EKG was normal also. Doctor
still doesn't know what is wrong with me. I'm seeing a specialist early next
week and hopefully will find out. I'm still having frequent palpitations, but I
am feeling a little better lately.
4 Mar 2004 - Well gang, on Monday I had some sort of
"episode" with my heart. I'm not sure what it was. Tests are pending. It was
probably not a heart attack or stroke, but I don't know what it was yet.
Anyway I feel pretty bad, so I wanted to post a little something here about it
in case anyone wants to pray for me. I really appreciate it!
This was badly timed (not that health problems are ever
well timed), but my financial situation is already dire. I've been pretty close
to losing my website for several months now but thankfully some money has always
come in "in the nick of time." I haven't even been able to pay my car or health
insurance this month though hopefully I'll be able to pay them before the month
ends and I lose them. I am expecting a little money to come in, and hopefully it
will be enough to cover the insurance and some other necessities, but I can say
that this website is not a "necessity" and it may be gone before April.
Hopefully not, but I did want to put out a warning just in case. If anyone wants
to donate, that would be appreciated. If not, I'd
appreciate a prayer at least for improved health. Thanks!
