DEATH OF W. D. COLLINS
The death of Mr. W.D. Collins, age
68, which occurred on Thursday of last
week came as an end to a suffering of
only four days. Mr. Collins was a resi-
dent of Zion community where he had
lived for a number of years. Funeral
services were conducted at Zion Church
Friday morning at 11 o'clock, and in-
terment was made in Cedardale ceme-
tery. The services were conducted by his
Pastor, Rev. Gardner.
Deceased is survived by the follow-
ing children: Mrs. T.W. Johnson,
Willie Collins, Walker Collins, Mrs.
Lila Johnson, Mrs. Flora Graves, Mrs.
Omega Bryant, C.A. Collins, Mrs. Mag-
gie Thomas, Henry Collins, Mrs. Annie
Goodyear.
His wife, four years younger, who, be-
for marriage, was Miss Mary Ellen
LeGette, preceded him to the grave
August 4, 1919.
In former years he was known best in
and around Marion where he lived on
his farm until 1906 when he purchased
a farm near Nichols, living there until
1915, then buying a farm at and mov-
ing to Zion.
He was a member of Woodmen
of the World and carried insurance in
this and other companies.
In disposition, quiet and retiring; in
manner, gentle; he had the respect and
regard of all with whom he came in
contact. A wide circle of true friends
are grieving to know of his passing.
