I have abstracted census records for all the persons named Stewart or Stuart who were in western North Carolina. I also looked for alternate spellings such as Steward, Stuard, Steuart, etc.

This study includes all of western North Carolina through 1880, plus a select few nearby counties that aren’t necessarily considered western ones, through 1850.
