Welcome to our website! My name is Marty Grant. I created this website to share my genealogical research with family and fellow researchers. I have been researching my ancestry since 1980, and my wife Karla's since 1987.

My father's ancestry is primarily from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee, with some early ancestry in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. His ancestors came to America primarily from Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Germany.

My mother's ancestry is primarily from Marion County, South Carolina as well as neighboring Horry County, South Carolina. She also has ancestors from Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Lenoir, Onslow and Wayne Counties, North Carolina. Her ancestors appear to have mainly originated in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

DNA evidence supports the paper trail and family traditions. We are primarily from the British Isles, Scandinavia and North Western Europe. We also have a little Eastern European, Native American and Sub Saharan African ancestry.

Karla's father's ancestors were primarily from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri, and generally of Anglo and Germanic origin.

Her mother's ancestors were primarily from Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington. They are generally of Norwegian and Germanic origin.

I haven't done as much research on Karla's family as on my own. Others have researched many of her lines fairly well, and I see no need to duplicate their work at this time. However, I am certainly interested in her ancestry, as is she. She leaves the research to me though.
