AbortionThis one is so simple, I shouldn't have to say much. If you kill a helpless child, it is murder, and not just murder, but the worst possible kind of murder. What difference does it make if the child is still in the womb? The only difference is that the child is even more helpless. Before going any further I want to make one thing perfectly clear. Those who would threaten, injure or kill Doctors, Nurses, etc. who are in the Abortion industry are just as guilty of murder as the abortionists themselves. It is not a Christians responsibility to enforce God's law on the world. It is not wrong to speak out against it, but to do so publicly (say in front of a clinic) is really a waste of time. However, within your own family, friends and church, you should certainly speak out against it. However, if you consider yourself a Christian, and you are out there protesting and screaming and yelling outside of these clinics, then what are you accomplishing? The answer is "nothing", except to make all Christians look really bad. We can not impose morality on a non-believing world. The only solution is to witness to people one at a time and then hopefully a few will be saved. When does life begin? Biology says quite clearly that life begins at conception. Anyone reading this who has children, could you possibly look at one of your children, and say to him or her "I had every right to abort you before you were born". Could you even think it? If you can't say it, then how could you do it? Or say it is okay for others to do it? I say abortion is wrong. It is murder. A Christian should not even have to think twice about this. If you are not a Christian, repent of this and your other sins, and seek God, he will forgive you, even for this sin. God loves you, and does not want any to be lost. If you have actually had an abortion, don't feel that you are lost beyond hope, Jesus loves you no matter what you have done, and you can be saved. (See the Gospel page for what that means). If you do find yourself torn on this issue, then consider these verses, which I think are applicable. They prove that in God's eyes, a baby in the womb is a human life, an actual person (which is exactly the opposite of what abortion proponents say). You can believe God or you can believe man. If they say the same thing, then believe both, if they disagree, then choose whom you will believe. But choose wisely!
The following verses show Jesus' words about how God loves children:
The following verses demonstrate that an unborn child is a "person" already while still in the womb:
As I mentioned before, there are some radicals who call themselves "Christian", though their very words and actions prove otherwise. These folks stalk, threaten, harass, and occasionally murder Doctors and other Health Care personnel. If you are completely free from sin, then it is okay for you to execute God's justice on others. (I say this sarcastically in case you missed it.) However, NO ONE is without sin. Read John 8:7. Jesus did not allow the angry mob to stone the woman caught in the act of adultery. Do you think he would have let them stone her if it were abortion she were guilty of? It is a worse sin than adultery, but still, God has mercy on those he would have mercy on. It is not a Christians place to execute God's judgment. Would you put yourself in place of God?
Most people who have abortions are not Christians, therefore, they are part of the World, and it is not our responsibility to try to stop them from committing particular sins. Our job is to preach the gospel and to lead them to Salvation through Jesus Christ. Only then can a person be changed, and it won't be us changing them, it will be God. Anyone who attacks or threatens abortion doctors, or abortion clinic workers are just as guilty of sin as the abortionists. No true Christian would do this. We are not here to change the world by force or coercion. We are here to preach Christ to all who will listen. When a person receives Christ, then we can teach them about what God considers sin and so forth, but a non Christian could care less about what is sin.
