I (Marty Grant) am a 6th Great Grand nephew of Reuben George.
Note: The George family is fully documented in the author's book "George Family History" now available. Click link for details. On the current web pages I am only presenting the most interesting documentation. There is a great deal more available that is not included here. Most of the available source documentation is in the book mentioned above. There are also many acknowledgments to be made. The book contains them all. Some are listed here.

Reuben George was born ca 1730 in Essex Co, VA He is a proven son of John George and Mary Jordan,
I base Reuben George's birth (of circa 1730) on his first public record being in 1751, and assuming he was at least 21 then.
I have abstracted numerous court records in Caroline Co, VA for Reuben George, but for some reason, I can't find my original references for them, so I can't quote book and page number, but I will retrieve that information as soon as I can relocate it.
On 10 Mar 1751, Reuben George was mentioned in Caroline Co, VA Court minutes, when "Peter", a Negro boy belonging to him was judged to be 10 years old. (Caroline Co, VA Order Book 1746-1754 page 386)
On 15 Feb 1754, Reuben George (and Thomas Swiney, and James Bradle) proved a deed in court, that they had witnessed between Jacob Burrus and Samuel Redd. (Caroline Co, VA Order Book 1746-1754 page 457)
For some reason, I haven't located my transcripts of the rest of Reuben's Caroline records, and I know there were several. I'll find these and include them here as soon as possible.
Reuben George married Mildred Rogers ca 1756 in Caroline Co, VA.
Though he lived in Caroline Co, VA, Reuben appeared with his brothers in Pittsylvania Co, VA in several court records, though I'm quite sure he never lived there.
On 30 Nov 1770, in Pittsylvania court, Robert Williams, assignee of Thomas Allsup, sued John George and Reuben George for debt. (Pittsylvania Co, VA Court Minutes Book 1 page 262).
On the same date (30 Nov 1770), John Gatewood sued John George and Reuben George for debt. (Pittsylvania Co, VA Court Minutes Book 1 page 262).
There are a couple of letters from John George of Pittsylvania to his brother Reuben of Caroline, proving that they are brothers. These are included in Thomas R. George's book The George Family Record, 1978.
Reuben George was listed on the 1782 tax list in Caroline Co, VA, and listed with 1 taxable (himself), and 18 non taxables.
Reuben George was listed on the 1787 census in Caroline Co, VA. He had one male over 21 (himself), 19 blacks age 16 and upwards, 7 blacks under age 16, 8 horses, 18 cattle, and 1 slave exempt by court order (slave not named).
Reuben George was probably listed on the 1790 census in Caroline Co, VA, but unfortunately, this census was lost for the entire state.
Reuben George made his Will in 1799, naming his children (I don't have this record yet). "all my children, namely Reuben, Molly, William, Byrd, Lucy Oliver, John, Ann and Molly Rogers".
Reuben George died before November 1799 in Caroline Co, VA. I think that Mildred died before he did.
I need to do alot more research on this family. There were several other men named Reuben George, who were very close in age to this Reuben, and many researchers today have them seriously mixed up, however, none of the other Reubens were in Caroline Co, VA.
Reuben and Mildred George had 8 children, as proven by Reuben's Will (1799). Many of the birth dates that I have are from Thomas R. George's book.
Phillip George was born ca 1757 in Caroline Co, VA and died ca 1778 in Caroline Co, VA. I only have his name from Thomas R. George's book. He wasn't named in his father's will (1799), but that makes sense, as he was dead before then.
William George was born 18 Oct 1760 in Caroline Co, VA. William was named in his father's Will (1799) as son "William".
William George moved to Goochland Co, VA and was listed there on the 1782 tax list, and the 1787 census. In 1787 he was listed as "Captain" William George.
William George married Nancy Garthright sometime prior to 1787, either in Goochland or Caroline Co, VA.
William was probably listed on both the 1790 and 1800 census in Goochland, but unfortunately, these census records were lost for the State of Virginia.
William George was listed on the 1810 census in Goochland Co, VA. His was the only George household listed there in that year.

For the 1820 census, there were two William George's listed in Goochland, and a William Jr. Also listed were William's sons Edmund George and Reuben George (and William Jr was his son also). I don't know who the 3rd William George would have been. I don't have the enumerations for this listings yet.
William George died ca 1827 in Goochland Co, VA.
I need to do much more research on this family.
Mary "Molly" George was born 8 Apr 1763 in Caroline Co, VA. Mary was named in her father's Will (1799) as daughter "Molly Rogers".
Mary George married Achilles Rogers in Caroline Co, VA, before 1799, probably in the early 1780's.
I've not done much research on this family yet. I did find some joint land grants with Achilles Rogers and Reuben George (probably Reuben Jr) in the early 1800's (all before 1810, I think), in Albemarle Co, VA. I don't know if they moved to that county or not.
Reuben George (Jr) was born 17 Mar 1766 in Caroline Co, VA. He was named in his father's Will (1799) as son "Reuben".
Reuben George married Elizabeth Sharp, possibly in Caroline Co, VA. I'm not sure when they were married, nor an approximate timeframe.
Reuben George was probably listed on the 1790 and 1800 census, somwehere in Virginia, but unfortunately, these two census were lost for the entire state.
On 24 Jul 1804 Reuben George and brother-in-law Achilles Rogers, received a joint 70 acre land grant in Albemarle Co, VA (Virginia Grants Book 53 page 256).
On the same date (24 Jul 1804) Reuben George and brother-in-law Achilles Rogers, received a joint 215 acre land grant in Albemarle Co, VA (Virginia Grants Book 53 page 258).
On 12 Jul 1809 Reuben George and brother-in-law Achilles Rogers, received a joint 730 acre land grant in Albemarle Co, VA (Virginia Grants Book 58 page 456).
Reuben George died ca 1807 per Thomas R. George's book The George Family Record, 1978, meaning the 1809 land grant would have been posthomous (which was very common).
A widow, Elizabeth George, was listed on the 1810 census in Henrico Co, VA, not far from Reuben's brother Byrd George. It is quite possible that this is Reuben's wife, but I'm not sure.

Byrd George was born 17 May 1768 in Caroline Co, VA. He was named in his father's Will (1799) as son "Byrd".
Byrd George married Mary Garthright, probably in Caroline Co, VA, though I'm not sure when they married.
Byrd George was probably listed on the 1790 and 1800 census in VA, but unfortunately, those records were lost for the entire state.
Byrd George was listed in Henrico Co, VA for the 1810 census. Henrico is where the City of Richmond is located. A widow, Elizabeth George, was nearby. She might be widow of Byrd's brother Reuben.
Byrd's wife might havebeen dead by this time, as there was no woman her age listed with Byrd.

Byrd George was listed on the 1820 and 1830 census in Henrico Co, VA as well. I don't have the enumerations for these two yet.
Byrd George died on 7 Dec 1836 in Henrico Co, VA.
Lucy George was born 1 Mar 1771 in Caroline Co, VA. She was named in her father's Will (1799) as daughter "Lucy Oliver".
Lucy George married John Oliver sometime prior to 1799. I've done no research on this branch of the family.
Ann George was born 10 Feb 1774 in Caroline Co, VA. She was named in her father's Will (1799) as daughter "Ann".
Ann George married James Gatewood on 5 May 1800 in Goochland Co, VA. I've done no additional research on this branch of the family yet.
John George was born 15 Jan 1778 in Caroline Co, VA. He was named in his father's Will (1799) as son "John".
I have John's death date as 1801. He probably never married, though he was old enough to have married.
