Aaron Hensley was born ca 1805/06 per his age on the 1850 census (44). He was born in Logan Co., VA (now WV) according to his marriage record (2nd marriage). However, Logan didn't exist in 1806 when he was born, so he may have been born in one of the parent counties (Kanawha being one of them). His parents seemed to be in Tazewell Co., VA around that time, so he may have been born there.

Aaron Hensley is a son of James Hensley and Martha (---). This is proven by his marriage record (2nd marriage).

Aaron would have been about 4 years old by the time of the 1810 census. His father James was in Floyd Co., KY then, and did have two boys aged under 10 (born ca 1800/10), one of whom is certainly Aaron.

Aaron would have been about 14 in 1820. His father was still in Floyd Co., KY then. He had three boys with him aged 10-15 (c1804/10).

The family moved to Illinois in the 1820's.

Aaron Hensley married Nancy King on 23 Nov 1828 in Edgar Co., IL. She was born ca 1807/08 in Virginia (both per 1850 census). I don't know who her parents are.

They are listed on the 1830 census in Edgar Co., IL.

They are still in Kanawha for the 1850 census. There is only one other Hensley in Kanawha at the time (Samuel Hensley-1795) and they are not listed near each other.

Roane County was formed in 1856 from Kanawha (and other counties). The Hensleys fell into the new county or moved there before 1860.

Nancy King Hensley died sometime between 1850 and 1857.

On 11 Aug 1857 Aaron Hensley married Mary Arnold in neighboring Calhoun Co., VA (WV). Their marriage record is most informative. Both are listed as widowed, her name at marriage was Knott, her birth place was given as Harrison Co., VA, parents John and Jemima Arnold. Aaron's birth place was given as Logan Co., VA, parents James and Martha Hensley.

They are on the 1860 census in Roane County.

I don't know when Aaron or Mary died, though obviously after 1880.

Children of Aaron Hensley and Nancy King. The 1830 through 1850 census records show many children, most are identified. It doesn't appear that Aaron and his 2nd wife Mary had any children together.
