A note about sources

Lewis Hensley was listed in the 1850 census of Breathitt Co, KY two different times. In both cases (once in district 1, second in district 2) he was listed next door to John Hensley, whom I suspect is his brother. Lewis was born in "Bunscombe" Co, NC per one of the two entries. This is a mispelled Buncombe Co, NC. My theory at the moment, is that John and Lewis are both sons of Lewis Hensley (c1784/90) and Nancy Howard. Lewis Sr is a son of Henry Hensley Sr and Barbara Angel of NC.

Lewis Hensley had apparently died before 1860, as his wife Fanny was listed as head of household in 1860 Breathitt Co KY.

In the 1850 District 1 entry, John and his brother Lewis were listed as Miners. In the District 2 entry, they were both farmers. It is possible that there were two different John's of the same age and two different Lewis' of the same age in the county at the same time, but I don't think that is the case. Both sets had wives of the same name and "both" Lewis' had children of the same names. It has to be duplicates.
