30 Jun 2018 - (1) Edited family of Zachariah Johnson (1849-aft 1900) and wife Nancy Virginia Burbage, prompted by email from Susan Denard. I had Nancy’s MN as Singleton because her mother is Mary J. Singleton as proven by several sources. However, upon closer examination of 1850, 1860 and later censuses, it seems Mary was either a widow Singleton, or a single mother Singleton by 1850. Joseph A. Burbage (c1810 VA), schoolmaster, was living with her in 1850 at which time she had a 1 year old son (also named Joseph Burbage). She had Nancy Virginia in 1851. Joseph A. Burbage vanishes from the record after that, yet Mary remains a Singleton on all subsequent records, so it seems she and Mr. Burbage didn't marry, or else did and then divorced.

(2) Also edited family of Zachariah R. Johnson (1864) and wife Nancy M. Skipper, since I initially thought that’s who Susan was asking about. Added some census record abstracts through 1940.
