Stewart Census Records 1784-1787 NC

[Stewart Home] - [US Census Records] - 1784-1787 NC

The North Carolina State Census is incomplete, but a few counties records survive. The returns were published in State Census of North Carolina 1784-1787, Transcribed and Indexed by Mr. Alvaretta Kenan Register, 1971.

The columns were:

1. White males from 21 to 60

2. White males under 21 OR above 60

3. White females of all ages.

4. Blacks of each sex from 12 to 50.

5. Blacks above 50 or under 12.

The returns weren’t all taken the same year. I only abstracted the counties of interest to me, namely those in Western North Carolina. There were some Stewarts in eastern North Carolina that I didn’t get.
