There were numerous men named James Lewis in eastern NC in the 1700s and early 1800s.

I’ve found it necessary to research many of the James Lewises in order to figure out more about those I’m related to. This page is my attempt to distinguish them and provide a “Table of Contents” for them. Each has (or will have) their own page with documentation. The list below is certainly incomplete, but covers the counties I’m most interested in. The names are listed chronologically by birth date.
