There were several men named William Lewis in eastern NC in the 1700s, namely in Chowan, Bertie, Dobbs (now Greene), New Hanover, Robeson and other counties, also in Horry and Marion Co., SC. Some of those may be the same man across multiple counties.

I’ve found it necessary to research all of the William Lewises in order to figure out more about those I’m related to. This page is my attempt to distinguish them and provide a “Table of Contents” for them. Each has (or will have) their own page with documentation. The list below is almost certainly incomplete.
